How to create a calm home office
Over the years, my home office has gone through several transformations. It started off as a multi-purpose space with a full-size bed, workout gear, and a tiny desk pushed into a corner.
The space was ok until I began working from home full-time in 2020. I needed a dedicated workspace that was inspiring and more importantly CALMING because HR in corporate America is stressful!
Creating a calm home office was necessary to improve my productivity and overall well-being.
Here are some tips I used and you can to achieve a peaceful and serene workspace:
• Choose a dedicated space for your home office. It's important to have a specific area where you can focus on work and minimize distractions.
• Make sure your desk and chair are comfortable. You'll spend a lot of time sitting, so invest in ergonomic furniture that supports your body and promotes good posture.
• Introduce natural light and plants. Natural light has been shown to improve mood and productivity, while plants can help purify the air and add a touch of nature to your space.
• Keep your home office clutter-free. A cluttered space can be overwhelming and distracting. Make a habit of regularly organizing and decluttering your desk and storage areas.
• Use calming colors and textures. Soft, neutral colors and natural materials like wood and stone can create a soothing atmosphere.
• Incorporate white noise or calming music. Background noise can help mask distractions and create a sense of privacy.
By following these tips, you can create a home office that is calm, comfortable, and conducive to productivity.
Happy working!
