Shifting my mindset to embrace my natural talent of creating spaces that are not only pretty + calm helped me carve out a much needed niche to link home and our feelings in to one cohesive brand.
With the hyper-convenience of modern life, many of us can only feel calm and relaxed on vacation. Enjoying a serene, peaceful feeling is not a luxury… It’s in your grasp, in your own home!
I can't remember when home decor didn’t matter to me.
My mother always decorated our home beautifully. She had a natural talent that everyone who ever visited us made known. Each time we moved, and it was a lot, (at least 10 times before I reached high school), she’d dabble in different design styles.
While in college, I worked at a locally owned furniture store; after a few months and several top salespeople awards later, I knew I had absorbed my mother’s skills.
This position allowed me to purchase furniture for the showrooms, get training on how furniture is created, and even attend the High Point Furniture Market.
After marriage and children, I decided to take a corporate job because I believed at the time, that it was a more stable career choice. Although, I no longer sold furniture or pursued a career as a designer; I kept myself educated in the industry and stayed on top of the trends. Seeing people come into our home and give me the same accolades I witnessed my mother receive was amazing.
Fast forward to 2016, I discovered an entire community on Instagram of others who shared my passion for all things home decor. I created my handle and began sharing my home journey. My page is meant to uplift and inspire others on the journey, home. Not just decorating it but embracing every aspect of being content with your dwelling and remaining hopeful and willing to make changes to create the home you love.
The way most of my community describes my home style is that it’s pretty and calming.
“I have a gift and eye for design AND I know that getting your mind right first is the ultimate key to curating spaces to feel like Home.”
