Why I Took a Social Media Hiatus: A Heartfelt Journey Back to My Roots

Hello, my Kristi Nicole HomeGirls ❤️

It's been a while since we last connected, and I wanted to share a little about why I've been absent from social media. You see, it wasn't a decision I made lightly, but one that was necessary for my well-being and growth.

For years, I poured my heart and soul into creating quality content for you all, sharing home decor tips and ideas that I hoped would inspire and uplift. But somewhere along the way, I lost sight of why I started. The pressure to constantly produce new, engaging content took its toll on me. I found myself struggling to keep up, both emotionally and mentally.

I began to feel disconnected from my passion, questioning if I was truly making a difference. It was a challenging time, filled with doubt and uncertainty. And then, on top of it all, my full-time career in HR optimization demanded more of my time and focus.

I realized I needed to step back and reevaluate my priorities. I needed to rediscover my love for home decor and design, without the pressure of likes and comments. So, I made the difficult decision to take a break from social media.

Not seeking perfection and being in the moment at home has really helped with my journey. The old me, would never post a picture with an old school snack tray and pillows unfluffed in a picture for others to see. On this journey, I will be real and share how I feel and not how I hope you think I feel based on a picture that has been perfectly curated.

During my hiatus, I took the time to reconnect with myself and my creativity. I spent more time focusing on my full-time career, honing my skills and striving for excellence. And you know what? It was exactly what I needed.

Looking back, I can see that my departure from social media was a blessing in disguise. It allowed me to refocus my energy and attention on what truly matters to me. And now, as I slowly ease back into sharing on my blog and newsletter, I feel reinvigorated and excited to reconnect with you all.

So, here's to new beginnings and a renewed sense of purpose. I'm grateful for each and every one of you who has supported me on this journey, and I can't wait to continue sharing my passion for home decor with you all.

With love and gratitude,

Kristi
